AXS TV announces ‘Vinyl Obsession’ marathon for Record Store Day

This Record Store Day, AXS TV is paying homage to independent record stores and vinyl with some of music’s most legendary names in the network’s National Record Store Day Vinyl Obsession Marathon, airing on Saturday, April 12th.
AXS TV’s fan-favorite Vinyl Obsession series captures rock trailblazers touring the hallowed aisles of Grimey’s in Nashville and The Record Parlour in Los Angeles to discuss their acclaimed careers and select the five albums that have impacted them the most. The exclusive block is an homage to the timeless allure and historical importance of vinyl records and the collectors who love them. Highlights include priceless insight and anecdotes by true masters from across the rock and metal spectrums, with appearances by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine, ZZ Top axeman Billy F Gibbons, Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett, Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt, Bush founder Gavin Rossdale, STYX legend Tommy Shaw, Halestorm helmer Lzzy Hale, Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, multi-talented guitar gurus John 5 and Steve Vai, L.A. royalty Kat Von D, and many more.
The marathon begins at 1:30 pm ET with Tommy Shaw and former MTV VJ Riki Rachtman.

I love how Vinyl Obsession celebrates the personal stories behind iconic records. The mix of legendary artists and their favorite albums makes the series feel like a great journey through rock history. Even though Basket Random is a completely different kind of entertainment, I appreciate how both can bring people together through shared enthusiasm and memorable experiences.
It instantly reminded me how many people still collect old records just for the vibe. When I was reading reactions in a media thread, someone brought up fetv while comparing different channels that focus on classic content, and it sparked a whole debate about which networks treat retro shows and music culture with the most respect. Kinda cool seeing how Record Store Day still gets everyone fired up.
